Newspaper owner Sheldon Adelson testifies in ongoing investigations in the Prime Minister

The Times reports on the execution yesterday of three Palestinian men by Hamas, convicted over the death of one of its senior commanders.

The Metro, The Times and The Financial Times continue to report on US President Donald Trump’s intelligence leak to Sergei Lavrov, the Russian Foreign Minister, in a White House meeting last week. The Financial Times claims that the US president appeared to confirm that the source of the intelligence was Israel, whilst The Metro report that the leak has damaged its intelligence sharing with key allies, including Israel.

The Telegraph have produced a bio of Jared Kushner, who they say “was appointed the White House’s point person on the Middle East, including the Israeli-Palestinian conflict”.

The Sun and Sky News report on the announcement of a new underground ballistic missile production facility in Iran. Sky News says Iran has developed missiles able to hit Israel, whilst The Sun quotes US President Trump who said that his administration will never allow Iran to possess nuclear weapons.

Yediot Ahronot and Maariv continue to follow the Histadrut election, Maariv reports on the Tel Aviv District Court ruling that the counting of votes will continue. This was done with the consent of both parties.  However, Shelly Yachimovich, one of the candidates, still petitioned the court to invalidate the elections due to the suspicion of voter fraud.  Meanwhile Yediot Ahronot is confident Avi Nissenkorn will be declared the winner.

Maariv leads on a poll that reveals 78 per cent believe there is no chance of reaching a peace agreement between Israel and the Palestinians in the foreseeable future. However 58 per cent want the sides to renew negotiations.

Yediot Ahronot report US casino magnate and owner of Israel Hayom, Sheldon Adelson gave a statement to police yesterday as part of an ongoing criminal investigation into Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the conversations he had with Yediot Ahronot publisher Noni Moses over influencing coverage in the paper.

Israel Hayom and Haaretz cover the latest investigation by the National Fraud Investigations Unit that has questioned interior minister Aryeh Deri from Shas and his on suspicion of being involved in corruption relating real estate deals and tax violations.

Israel Hayom includes speculation that negotiations will renew in an effort to bring the Zionist Union into the coalition to support a resumption of a peace process under the auspice of President Trump.

Kan radio news reports former Prime Minister Ehud Olmert will be released early from prison in a few weeks in accordance with a rehabilitation plan offered by the Prisoner Authority.
