Two Israelis were wounded in three stabbings yesterday in the West Bank. They were among the continued attempted attacks aimed at Israelis over the weekend.

In Hebron, which has seen several stabbings during the past week, a 17-year-old Palestinian female attempted to stab Israeli border police officers at the Tomb of the Patriarchs. When asked for her identification, she reportedly pulled out a knife and lunged at the officers, who shot and killed her.

In the Gush Etzion region of the West Bank, a 58-year-old Israeli man was moderately injured after his car was pelted with rocks. He exited the vehicle and was then stabbed, but reportedly fired a personal weapon towards the attacker and was able to escape and find help. Yesterday evening, a 25-year-old Israeli man was seriously wounded having received multiple stab wounds near the West Bank town of Ariel. Israeli forces later arrested 26-year-old, Tamer Khadir from a village near Nablus in connection with the attack.

On Saturday, a 16-year-old Palestinian attempted to stab Israeli security personnel at a checkpoint north of Jenin. The attacker reportedly posed as a chocolate seller and pretended to sell to passengers waiting to pass the checkpoint. However, he pulled out a knife and attempted to stab the Israeli guards, who shot the assailant dead.

Meanwhile, on Friday a four-year-old Israeli girl suffered serious burns when her family’s car was struck by a firebomb near the West Bank settlement of Beit El. Her parents and two siblings suffered lesser burns. Also on Friday, clashes broke out in the West Bank between locals and IDF forces at Hebron, El Bireh, Beit Ummar and Rachel’s Tomb near Bethlehem. Hundreds of Palestinians threw rocks and other projectiles at the Gaza border. Dozens of Palestinians were reportedly wounded in the ensuing clashes.
