An 18-year-old Israeli was killed yesterday in a knife attack at a petrol station, while in a separate incident, two teenage Palestinian girls stabbed Israelis outside a busy Jerusalem market.

Yesterday’s deadly attack took place at a petrol station on the 443 motorway between Modi’in and Jerusalem, which has seen previous knife attacks on Israelis during the current wave of violence. Army driver Ziv Mizrahi pulled over with a fellow female soldier and was attacked by a Palestinian man, who fatally wounded Mizrahi and wounded his colleague. Another army officer on the scene shot the attacker dead.

Meanwhile, outside Jerusalem’s Mahane Yehuda outdoor market, two Palestinian teenagers, aged 14 and 16 used scissors to attack passers-by. They injured a 70-year-old man in the head, who turned out to be a Palestinian resident of the West Bank. Security guards instructed the attackers to stop, but as the assailants continued to advance towards them, they opened fire, killing one and wounding the other. A 27-year-old man was also lightly injured in the incident, possibly in the crossfire.

Also yesterday, a terrorist was thwarted attempting to stab an Israeli soldier near Nablus. Meanwhile, one person was wounded in what appeared to be a vehicle attack near Shavei Shomron in the West Bank.

21 Israelis have been killed in the current violence, which began at the start of October. On Sunday, a 21-year-old Israeli woman was stabbed to death at the Gush Etzion junction in the West Bank. At the same spot last week, three people were killed by a Palestinian gunman and on the same day, two Israelis were stabbed to death in south Tel Aviv. On Saturday, four were wounded in a stabbing spree in the southern city of Kiryat Gat.

Meanwhile, early this morning, two Israeli soldiers and a border police officer were injured in what appeared to be a vehicle attack at the Tapuach junction in the West Bank. The suspected attacker was shot and wounded at the scene.
