German custom police have found that over 50 German companies have sold Iran equipment used to develop its nuclear plant at Bushehr. Iran claims that the Bushehr facility was been built with the help of the Russians and that it is for civilian purposes. The value of the equipment transferred by German companies to Iran is $150 million and that according to the public prosecutor who spoke to Haaretz, this was "just the tip of the iceberg." Iran is on Germany's list of countries, to which it is illegal to export nuclear knowledge. A Berlin company called Vero disguised the sales to Iran claiming that it was supplying equipment to a Russian nuclear reactor in Rustov. Investigators said that 10 to 12 German companies knew they were transferring equipment to Iran.
