Israeli Air Force jets struck at two targets in Gaza last night in response to a Qassam rocket that hit the southern Israeli city of Ashkelon earlier in the day. The air strikes targeted a Hamas training centre in central Gaza and a smuggling tunnel along the border with Egypt. An IDF spokesperson said that Israel holds Hamas responsible for maintaining the calm in Gaza and will respond to any attacks on Israel’s population.
No injuries were reported in the Qassam strike. The latest retaliation follows a similar incident that took place overnight on Friday where the air force struck at three targets in Gaza following the launch of Qassam rockets on Israel.
