IAF target tunnel and terrorist cell launching rockets in Gaza

[ssba]

The Israeli Air Force overnight targeted a smuggling tunnel in northern Gaza, in response to rocket fire from Gaza into Israel over the last few days. An IDF statement said the tunnel was used to smuggle terrorists into Israel to carry out attacks. “The IDF will not tolerate any attempt to harm Israeli citizens and IDF soldiers and will continue to act firmly and strongly against anyone who engages in terrorism against Israel,” the statement read after the strike.

Meanwhile, earlier this morning, two Palestinians were killed when the IAF targeted a site near Khan Yunis in southern Gaza where a terrorist cell was preparing to launch a rocket into Israel. The attack was a joint IDF-Shin Bet (Israel Security Services) operation and the two Palestinians were identified as members of a Global Jihad terrorist cell. Instead of being a retaliatory attack, The IAF took pre-emptive measures by identifying the terrorists in advance and carried out a strike before they could launch rockets into Israel.
