Yediot Ahronoth reports on yesterday’s stabbing attack at the Kalandiya checkpoint north of Jerusalem by a 41-year-old Palestinian woman, Asiya Kaabane who stabbed a 28 year old female Bedouin soldier, Salem Fawaz,. The soldier sustained light injuries, and her comrades subdued the attacker and arrested her. Kaabane said that she committed the attack because she wanted to die.

Maariv and Haaretz report that Prime Minister Netanyahu has threatened to cancel a scheduled meeting with German Foreign Minister Sigmar Gabriel unless he cancels meetings with Btselem and Breaking the Silence. The German foreign minister is expected to meet with President Rivlin and opposition leader Isaac Herzog. Herzog criticised Netanyahu’s ultimatum saying it caused serious harm to Israeli-German relations.

Israel Radio reports that Shas ministers have warned that they will withdraw from the government coalition if they fail to overturn the recent High Court ruling allowing mini-markets in Tel Aviv to open  on the Sabbath.
