At the end of the impressive demonstration last Saturday night, the return to the base on Rothschild Boulevard was difficult for the protesters. It was clear that success had gone to their heads and they wanted to exploit it to the finish. For a moment I saw policemen on television asking the demonstrators not to block traffic. I admit my heart skipped a beat. All we need is a violent conflict, I said to myself.

But there was hope that it wouldn’t happen, for the simple reason that the tent protesters didn’t want to lose their broad group of sympathizers. They didn’t present themselves as anarchists, but rather as the salt of the earth who are representing the problems of most of the public. The demonstrators exposed the sense of injustice in the distribution of the security and economic burden, which is the source of pressure for changing our priorities.”
