The Guardian, Daily Mail, Independent, Daily Mirror, and Times report that RAF planes struck ISIS targets in Iraq for the first time, bombing a stationary post and a truck. The Daily Mail notes that a US strike on ISIS killed two civilians.

The Telegraph and Guardian cover Iranian President Hassan Rouhani’s response to Prime Minister David Cameron. Cameron had criticised Iran’s human rights record, support for terrorism and its nuclear ambitions in a speech to the UN General Assembly. The Telegraph quotes President Rouhani calling Cameron’s remarks “wrong and unacceptable.”

The Guardian reports on Palestinians trying to smuggle themselves out of Gaza, both by tunnels into Egypt and by sea.

The Independent i notes that Iran will supply the Lebanese army to help its fight against “Islamic extremist groups.” The piece notes that Iran also supplies Hezbollah, the Shiite Lebanese militia which is larger than the national Lebanese army.

An op-ed by George Monbiot in the Guardian argues that the logic of the bombing campaign against ISIS means that the UK should also bomb the whole Middle East including Iraqi Shias, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Iran, etc.

The Times reports that three lions from a Gaza zoo have been transported to a nature reserve in Jordan following the summer’s conflict.

The Guardian covers an online petition created to pressure El Al, Israel’s national airline, to take action. Several flights were delayed after ultra-Orthodox male passengers wanted to sit next to other men. A similar report appears in Haaretz.

Israeli newspapers Maariv, Yediot Ahronot, Israel Hayom and Haaretz reveal that a construction worker was killed in an apparent terrorist attack. Netanel Arami fell to his death in Petah Tikva, near Tel Aviv, two weeks ago. Maariv notes claims in court that Mr Arami’s rappelling cable was deliberately cut. Police reportedly suspect a nationalistic motive in the killing.

Yediot Ahronot reports on today’s planned meeting between Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US President Barack Obama. Sources in the Prime Minister’s office say that Mr Netanyahu’s focus for the meeting will be the issue of Iran’s nuclear programme.

Maariv and Haaretz report that 25 Jewish settlers moved into empty buildings in East Jerusalem’s Silwan neighbourhood which had been purchased for them. The move reportedly provoked some local clashes.

Haaretz notes that Israel’s Attorney General has ruled that National Service participants will continue to be allowed to spend their service working for human-rights organisation B’Tselem.
