The Times reports on a “huge” explosion at Parchin, an Iranian military nuclear complex near Tehran. The blast is believed to have killed two people. The Times notes that Iran is accused of testing nuclear warhead components at the Parchin base.

The Telegraph discusses the Iranian “New Horizion” conference last week. The international conference of conspiracy-theorists claimed that “Zionists” were behind the 11 September 2001 attacks. The Telegraph also notes that Church of England vicar Stephen Sizer attended the conference.

In the Independent and Independent i, Robert Fisk writes about the implications of Sunday’s cross-border attack by ISIS on Hezbollah-controlled towns in Lebanon. He notes that fear of ISIS is felt by many Lebanese, and that there is widespread racism in Lebanon against the large number of Syrian refugees.

The BBC News website carries a feature piece on the Israeli families “scarred” by this summer’s war. The piece looks at the fear in the South about rocket and tunnel attacks on Israel, and talks to the family of an Israeli civilian who was killed during the conflict.

In the Guardian, a piece by Jonathan Powell, Tony Blair’s former Chief of Staff, argues for negotiation with terrorist groups around the world. Drawing on his experiences from Northern Island, he says that negotiations with Hamas and al-Qaeda are ultimately the right path. He notes that there are indirect negotiations with Hamas over ceasefires.

In the Israeli media, Yeidot Ahronot, Maariv, Israel Hayom and the Jerusalem Post all cover the Parchin Iranian nuclear facility blast and speculate on its causes and implications.

Haaretz, Israel Hayom, Jerusalem Post, Maariv and Yediot Ahronot report on Interior Minister Gidon Saar’s response to the recent Supreme Court ruling on asylum seekers. Mr Saar told the Knesset’s Interior Committee that he planned to bring new legislation as a response to the Court ruling.

Yediot Ahronot has details of a plan to reconstruct Gaza, agreed between Israel and the Palestinian Authority.

Israel Hayom quotes Hamas leader Mahmoud a-Zahar in an interview to Palestinian newspaper al-Ayyam. According to the report, Zahar spoke about a possible Hamas takeover of the West Bank and said Hamas wants to “establish an Islamic caliphate that will span all the sacred lands of occupied Palestine.”

Maariv notes that two members of the new Swedish Cabinet have been deported from Israel in the past and that one of them was a participant in the 2010 Mavi Marmara flotilla.
