The paper also reports that regular Iranians are likely to feel the effects of the EU’s ban on purchasing Iran’s crude oil. Today’s Israeli media focuses on the expected recommendations of the parliamentary committee discussing possible routes of ultra orthodox military and civic service. Yediot Ahronot reveals that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is against imposing fines on individuals who do not enlist and instead prefers sanctioning the institution where they study. Campaigners in favour of the proposals accuse the Prime Minister of watering down the proposed legislation to keep the ultra-Orthodox parties in his coalition. Yediot Ahronot and Israel Hayom  report on the murder of a senior Hamas official in Syria. Maariv follows the evacuation of the Ulpana Hill neighbourhood in Bet El, noting that after the initial peaceful moves there were a series of skirmishes between hard-line youths and residents who have wanted to evacuate peacefully. Ynet reports on Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s intention to attend the London Olympics.
