Former Prime Minister and Defence Minister Ehud Barak heavily criticised the government and the Prime Minister, saying that “[Benjamin] Netanyahu is willing to risk the country in order to protect his seat” and that his “pessimistic, passive, anxious and playing the victim” leadership has run its course. Barak also suggested that “in the past months there have been initial signs of a civil awakening throughout Israel”.

Yediot Ahronoth and Times of Israel report that Gulf states have demanded that Qatar sever ties with Iran and expel Iran’s Revolutionary Guards from the emirate if it wants to re-establish diplomatic relations.

Army Radio also reports that Prime Minister Netanyahu promised Beit El Local Council Chairman Shai Alon that the 300 housing units that he pledged to build after the demolition of the Ulpana neighbourhood five years ago would be advertised in the settlement in four months. However Maariv reports that the aides to Netanyahu have said that no housing tenders in the West Bank will be published until the end of 2017.
