Stabbing attack in Jerusalem

A 17-year-old Israeli student, Yehuda Ne’emad, suffered serious injuries after being stabbed in Jerusalem’s Ramot neighbourhood on Saturday. Ne’emad was stabbed in the abdomen and back and was rushed to Hadassah Ein Kerem hospital, where he underwent surgery. Police believe that the stabbing was nationalistically motivated. Security forces deployed in the neighbouring Palestinian village of Beit Iksa following the attack. The separation fence does not extend to the Ramot-Beit Iksa area, affording easy passage between the two communities. The attacker reportedly tried to stab others in Ramot, including a 12-year-old girl.
