The Times reports on comment by an unnamed US Official to the Washington Post last week that “Trump administration officials are planning for the next stage of the war; a complex fight that will bring them into direct conflict with Syrian government and Iranian forces” in Eastern Syria. It also reports that Turkey is preparing to send troops to Qatar following President Erdogan’s public criticism of Egypt, Saudi Arabia, UAE and Bahrain’s decision to sever ties with Qatar.

The Times also covers Israel considering a plan to build a seaport for Gaza to allow businesses to export goods and Gazans to travel abroad via ferry to Egypt and Cyprus. Defence Minister Avigdor Lieberman’s opposition prevented the security cabinet from reaching a decision on the project earlier this month.

The Metro reports that missiles from Syria landed in the Golan Heights yesterday, marking the second day in a row. The Israeli army have said the projectiles were the result of “errant” fire.

All of the Israeli media report on the reactions to the cabinet freezing the January 2016 decision to create a platform for egalitarian and progressive Jewish practice at the Western Wall.  Maariv’s Shlomo Shamir describes the decision as “nothing less than a declaration of war on the leading and overwhelming majority of the American Jewish community” while Shlomo Pyoterkovsky in Yediot Ahronoth writes that “the religious and the Haredim are being compelled to accept a non-Orthodox presence and influence in a major location near the ruins of the temple. This is no mere triviality”. Maariv, the Times of Israel and Haaretz report that the Jewish Agency has cancelled a dinner with Netanyahu this evening over the decision.

Haaretz reports that British Minister Sajid Javid is threatening to ax London’s Palestine Expo over its support for Hamas.

Israel Hayom reports on the concerns that Hezbollah will try and disrupt the building of a wall along parts of Israel’s border with Lebanon.

Kan Radio report that Mossad Director Yossi Cohen has said that Iran is forming a “Hezbollah number two” in the Golan Heights.

Maariv and Yediot Ahronoth focus on the ongoing plight of pediatric cancer patients and their families at Hadassah Hospital Ein Kerem.

Kan Radio report that the police evacuated three soldiers in uniform from the Mea Shearim neighbourhood in Jerusalem last night, after dozens of Haredim crowded around them and heckled them.
