The Times reports that Israel has been ordered to pay Iran compensation over the nationalisation of an oil pipeline in 1979. However, the Times notes that Israeli law bans payments to enemy countries such as Iran.

Israel Hayom claims that most firearms used in criminal incidents in Israel were stolen from the IDF. Citing a police report, it says that 1,004 of the 1,284 firearms incidents classed as criminal were carried out using stolen weapons, and notes that there is an illegal market in such weapons. The report follows the arrest last week of an IDF officer who was allegedly running a weapon-stealing ring.

Haaretz reports that seven Jews were arrested on the Temple Mount over the course of the fast of Tisha b’Av. One of the Jews was arrested for crying, which Jews are banned from doing on the Temple Mount. There were minor scuffles by Muslim visitors on the Mount attempting to attack Jews, but there were no serious injuries. Police closed the site to Jewish visitors 45 minutes early to prevent escalation.
